Not only...

is Adam one of the nicest guys you’re likely to meet (don't worry - he's not writing this), but you only have to look at the feedback of his customers to understand how well-loved his products are, each one imbued with the knowledge and experience obtained from decades in the industry.

After spending his formative years working at Soundcraft’s R&D department in the '80s, Adam Pope moved to Prague for 6 years to work in studio, live and theatre sound, both as a tech and engineer. Following a brief venture installing radio stations in the U.S., he returned to the U.K. to run the tech department for a major audio rentals company before eventually lending his knowledge and experience to Funky Junk's tech department in 2009.

Having spent many years repairing pro audio gear in the backrooms of London's foremost pro audio retailer, it was the time permitted during 2020’s lockdown that finally gave Mr Pope the opportunity and drive to start building his own creations. Working with Funky colleague and designer, Michael McMenemy, it wasn’t long until the BAX 2020 was born; a straightforward but highly effective shelving EQ that has gone on to prove popular among top producers and engineers worldwide. Since then, Pope Audio have slowly but surely established a loyal following and a firm reputation for making high-quality, yet affordable boutique studio tools, including the excellent ‘Dirty-C' Chorus module (based on the same circuitry as the legendary Roland RE-501) and his latest creation, the beautiful ‘PRE-BX’ 500 Series mic pre (recently reviewed in this month’s Sound on Sound magazine).
